Upcycling can take many forms. Here are are some of the methodology and products we hold close to our hearts.
Dedicated Dirty Bags
These bags are what our organization was founded on. While out on the trails, we always found trash. Sometimes some really dirty trash, and also sometimes dirty treasures like fun rocks or trinkets. Most of the time we had to co-mingle it in our day-bags, but we knew there was a better way. We had an old tent, that over the years became unusable as a tent anymore, but we didn’t have the heart to put it in the landfill. We thought….”what could we turn this tent into, you know…to keep using it?” One day, while picking up trail trash, the concept came to us. “Lets turn the tent into dedicated dirty bags!!”
The fundamentals are simple. Use materials that would have become trash, to pick up trash. The concept and versions of the trailer trash bags have been growing ever since. We try and use as much of the tent materials and hardware as possible, and have come up with some really clever designs. From our small “Waist Basket’, to the medium sized “Bin”, and the much larger “Dumpster”, we are striving to make sure there is a product that can fit almost anyone’s needs.
Waste Basket
Our Waste Basket is where this whole endeavor started. This small and extremely light weight trail trash bag is perfect for every day use. It holds just enough waste for a small hike or a walk with your pet. With its velcro closure, and strap for attaching to a belt loop or leash, it keeps all trail waste hands free, and out of the way.
The Waste Basket is a versatile little trash bag. Perfect for picking up small trail trash, or bagged pet waste while on walks and hikes. Always remember to wash your Waste Basket with soap after using.

Rubbish Bin
The Rubbish Bin is the perfect reusable trash bag for backpacking trips, long hikes, light trail cleanups, or even small household trash cans. At a little over double the size of our Waste Basket, this lightweight and durable bag can clip on about anything with a hook, and has a dowel closure that keeps the trash in and is easy to keep putting trash in, even when the dowel is secured.
Car-Bin Offset Trash Bag.
This unique upcycled trash bag utilizes a clip system to keep our water resistant medium sized Bin Model attached to your headrest. We strive to use as many pieces of hardware from our donated outdoor equipment, and this is probably one of the best and most creative usage we have come up with so far.
The Dumpster
How many times have you been camping or traveling, and have run out of trash bags? Well, with The Dumpster, those days can be put behind you. Made from the strongest parts of our donated tents, The Dumpster sits between 10 and 13 Gallons, is equipped with a draw string and a hanging tab, is drip resistant, and has been tested to hold around 50lbs without failing. When you throw away your trash, just rinse it out, set it in a place to dry, and its ready to be used again and again.
Mesh Rubbish Bin
This mesh bag is made out of the bug netting from our donated tents. It works great as a medium sized trash bag for wet items that you want the water to drain out of. Weighing in at around 0.5oz, it also is a fantastic produce or delicates washing bag.
