Poudre River Trail CLeanup with Odell Brewing and Coalition for the Poudre Watershed
Trash is everywhere, especially in our rivers. Two weeks ago we had the opportunity to help our friends at Odell Brewing and the Coalition for the Poudre Watershed clean up a big stretch of the Poudre River that flows through Fort Collins. We were heads of the bike team, which ended up being three of us, but we had the power of our Dumpster Trash Bags, that we could fill up repeatedly and drop into a much bigger bag at a set location on the river trail.
Adrienne, myself, and Eagle-Eye Deb set off about 2 miles down the trail. We made our way back towards the brewery picking up over 6 ballads with our dumpsters. This allowed us to fill two giant bags that the park service would pick up.
This was our first river trash pickup, and it gave us some wonderful ideas on how we will be able to perform zero-added waste pickups in the future with our newly acquired repurposed bike trailer we got from our local partner store, The Gearage, and our Dumpster trash bags. More trash pickups to come!!
